Karaoke and more watercolor anatomy??

Ahhh I went to karaoke last night and it was really fun!! It was my friends birthday and we went and ate Korean food followed by a big room at a karaoke bar!

They were selling specialty soju & sake mixes in cute lucky cat porcelain glasses and you got to take it home for a few extra $$$~ It was a good time, since I haven't been out and about much lately.

I also tried to keep going with my watercolors, but I wasn't as satisfied with how this one came out.

I really like how I drew the hand but after adding color it didn't look right. I'm not sure why that keeps happening but sometimes I'll really love a sketch or a lineart and then I color it and it just LOOKS HORRIBLE???? Does that happen to anyone else?

Ah well, practice makes better right?

Trying Watercolors~!

So this week I took a break from fan art. I really wasn't satisfied with where my art was going or how it was turning out this week and I ended up making a lot of "Dorito-face" type anime guys LOL.

So instead, I decided to work on some personal paintings and ideas. I also decided to try something new and go back to traditional art. I really don't want to totally lose my skills in traditional art so after 6 years of not picking up watercolors, I finally gave them a shot again.

Hello! I am a little late with introducing myself but since I'll be beginning to post every day here, I hope to tell you more about myself!

I am KuroSixx and I am an artist! But art ties into many other passions: I also enjoy writing, japanese street fashion, traveling, playing video games and watching movies or watching 90's and early 2000's anime.

Why have a blog?

I created this blog initially to just post art, but I was dissatisfied with JUST posting. I do that with my other social media, what would make blogspot any more special over DA or Tumblr??
I really wanted to have this blog have a more personal role.

Here I hope to document both my life, travels and interests through my art, my writing and maybe some photos too! Every post will have at least one picture (Well, at least that is what I will strive for).
I want to tell you about my process, or my day, or somewhere I went or just ramble to you and throw in some art and photos!

I also want to be able to connect with other creative people with similar interests or just those who want to learn more about it~

Today I was in an art funk. So I drew a Link 

Unfortunately I've been having major art block...well..art..rough...ness?
I have drawn a bunch of things but nothing is quite turning oput the way I want and it's getting frustrating. 

In addition I've decided to try being more active on youtube with speedpaints so I can begin to document my own process as well as help others if I can. Regardless, I would like to start uploading videos of all sorts.

Some progress on my Punished "Venom" Snake

I found that I avoid backgrounds and I'm trying to ease myself into them, at least light backgrounds for spot illustrations. So far I'm fairly pleased with the results.

I've also been practicing poses etc. And hopefully I can get to a point where I am comfortable drawing "difficult" angles rather than just 3/4 or stright on poses. I need to keep experimenting with it.
