So this week I took a break from fan art. I really wasn't satisfied with where my art was going or how it was turning out this week and I ended up making a lot of "Dorito-face" type anime guys LOL.
So instead, I decided to work on some personal paintings and ideas. I also decided to try something new and go back to traditional art. I really don't want to totally lose my skills in traditional art so after 6 years of not picking up watercolors, I finally gave them a shot again.

Truly it paid off. I was really satisfied with this small piece and think I'm going to try and complete at least one or two watercolors a week, if not more. It forced me to work with mistakes and mishaps and I think this is important for someone who hyper focuses so much on small details right away (which is what I do haha).
This was the first personal work I posted online for a while and it ended up being probably the most well-received painting out of anything I've done on my Twitter. I was really quite happy seeing personal work get attention for once! Especially a watercolor painting, something I haven't touched in almost 6 years now. As someone with confidence issues with my artwork, it's very uplifting. I hope to try more of these.
